Block Party on the Pointe

The Block Party on the Pointe serves as the official kickoff to the Summer on the Pointe 2026 series, co-presented with Land InSights and the Old Port of Montréal Corporation. The event is free to attend and takes place outdoors in front of the museum at 350 Place Royale in Old Montréal from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The museum itself remains open until 7 pm (admission fees apply for entry).

The afternoon programme is rooted in Indigenous culture and coincides with National Indigenous Peoples Day and the 325th anniversary of the Great Peace of Montréal. Wendat dancer Aroussen Gros-Louis leads Pow Wow Dance demonstrations at 1:30 pm and 2:15 pm, while storyteller Jocelyn Sioui presents a Musical Tale with a Wendat-inspired children's story at 1:45 pm.

At 2:45 pm, Wendake artist ANYMA ORA' takes the stage for an electro-pop music and dance performance, followed by a DJ Set at 4:00 pm with DJ Pøptrt from Kahnawà:ke, who blends house, disco, and electronic music with Indigenous influences. Throughout the afternoon, a Talking Sticks Workshop led by Natacha Tanguay draws inspiration from the 1701 Great Peace of Montréal.

A relaxation zone and refreshments from Bistro L'Arrivage are available on-site.
