Sensibilités, Marginalités

Sensibilités, Marginalités brings together two distinctive voices in contemporary dance for a single evening at the Cinquième Salle. Montréal choreographer Lina Cruz, founder of Productions Fila 13, presents 1+1 miniatures — a pair of very short solos. The first, PORTRAIT, draws on a poem by Hector de Saint-Denys Garneau to explore the fragility and beauty of existence. The second, RECUL, inspired by a text by Claude Gauvreau, evokes the right to difference and marginal realities. Together they form a sensitive dialogue between poetry and movement.

Spanish artist Sonia Gómez, trained in Barcelona and Brussels, presents ELK — a work that continues her reflection on time, experience and stage presence begun with Bailarina. Over 60 minutes, her body enters into interaction with raw and transformed materials such as clay, wool, glass, wood and latex, creating exchanges between the visible and the invisible. Her work has been shown across Europe, the Americas and Asia.

The total running time is 1 hour and 30 minutes including an intermission. Tickets are priced at $49 (regular rate, taxes and fees included), with a youth rate available. Tickets are sold through Festival Quartiers Danses.
