Lake Junin

Perched at 4,080 meters above sea level, Lake Junin is one of Peru's largest high-altitude lakes and a crucial wildlife sanctuary in the central Andes. The pristine waters serve as a vital habitat for over 160 bird species, including the endangered Junin grebe found nowhere else on Earth.
