Raqqa

Strategically positioned on the Euphrates River, Raqqa once served as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate and remains an important archaeological site. The city features remnants of ancient walls and the historic Qasr al-Banat palace complex. Despite recent challenges, Raqqa's location along major trade routes continues to define its significance in northern Syria.
