Meknes
One of Morocco's four imperial cities, Meknes boasts impressive monuments from the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. The massive Bab Mansour gate and the sprawling Heri es-Souani granaries showcase the city's former grandeur. Less touristy than other imperial cities, Meknes offers an authentic experience with easy access to the Roman ruins of Volubilis.
